Maya Liu is a freelance stage manager primarily working in opera. She is in her final semester at the University of Michigan, pursuing a BFA in Theatre Design and Production (stage management concentration) and a minor in music.
She has always loved creating efficient systems, puzzling out logistics, and making spreadsheets. She delights in how those skills work in stage management, especially in combination with her choral singing experience.
Maya has worked with various companies including Wolf Trap Opera, the Aspen Music Festival and School, and The National Orchestral Institute + Festival.
She also has experience in supertitle creation and operation, wardrobe, and administration, all of which she lovingly calls her "side dishes" to stage management.
When not at work, Maya enjoys sewing and quilting (including designing her own quilt patterns), petting every dog she meets, and visiting local libraries.
