About Maya

Maya Liu is a freelance stage manager primarily working in opera. She has always loved creating efficient systems, puzzling out logistics, and making spreadsheets, so she delights in how those skills come together in stage management, especially in combination with her experience in choral singing.

Maya has worked with various companies, including Wolf Trap Opera, the Aspen Music Festival and School, and Bard SummerScape. She is an AGMA member and an alumna of the University of Michigan, where she received a BFA in Theatre Design and Production and a Minor in Music.

She also has experience in wardrobe and supertitle creation and operation.

When not at work, Maya enjoys sewing and quilting (including designing her own quilt patterns), visiting local libraries, and petting every dog she meets.
